 Cotton-Top Cove is rather serene looking, filled with various lakes and waterfalls. The manual for ''Donkey Kong Country 3'' describes Cotton-Top Cove as the Northern Kremisphere's best vacation spot because of the areas beautiful scenery. Due to the large amount of water in the area several of Cotton-Top Cove's areas are located underwater among the fish and coral reefs.

Near the waterfalls are various stair-like protrusions in the cliff face, whether these stairs were created or are simply the result of the rock being whethered by water is also unknown.  [[Blue]] Bear is located in his [[Blue's Beach House|beach house]] near the beginning of the area. Also Cotton-Top Cove's [[Banana Bird Cave]] is located fairly close to the area's beginning, to the left of a waterfall.
