In fact, Frog Mario can only hop on the ground like a Frog. As such, Frog Mario's jumping ability is greater than regular Mario's. Frog Mario was of great help in World 3 of Super Mario Bros. 3, Seaside. Also, Frog Mario can run when carrying an item such as a Koopa shell.

Trivia
- If Mario or Luigi beats an Airship in this form, the King of the world will say, "Oh me, oh my! You've been transformed! Shall I change you back with this wand?".
- In the Club Nintendo comic "Mario will hoch hinaus", Mario is seen jumping around, saying "It's great to be a frog", despite not wearing the Frog Suit.
