Blue Fireballs in [[Mario vs. Donkey Kong (Nintendo Switch)]] function identically to Fireballs but have a slightly distinct theming and aesthetic that contrasts with the regular Fireballs. On top of being a color variation, they have a snowy/icy particle effect which fits the theming of [[Slippery Summit]]. Although they are the same mechanically, I feel like the fact that Blue Fireballs are clearly ice-themed enemies rather than fire-themed enemies warrants this enemy having a separate page. They are aesthetically handled similarly to [[Robo Kikki]]s and [[Fire Bird]]s but without the gameplay differences.

Color variant?

Do these present any puzzle opportunities that differ from red Fireballs? If not, I think these should just be treated as color variants like blue Lava Bubbles or glowing Polterguys. LinkTheLefty (talk) 18:16, March 8, 2024 (EST)

The Blue Fireballs seem to be treated similarly to Robo Kikkis or Firebirds where they are aesthetically different but serve the same purpose. The icy theming and particle effects make them slightly distinct and contrast with the regular, fire-based Fireballs. ReeceeYT (talk) 22:54, March 8, 2024 (EST)

Those are a little different because Robo Kikkis are faster than Monchees and Fire Birds have harmful nests and unblockable eggs, not to mention the radically different designs. Blue Fireballs just seem functionally identical to red ones in every way except for your defeat animation. Same argument can be used for splitting the original and remade Tane Pakkun enemies. Generally speaking, the wiki keeps color variations merged with the originals. Consider also that the Fireballs share an asset set, just like the different-colored Shy Guys and Polterguys have their own shared asset sets. LinkTheLefty (talk) 12:29, March 11, 2024 (EDT)
