This battle plays similarly to Boss Game 2 and Boss Game 4, with several key differences. The spiked platform Donkey Kong is on both moves left and right and sways in an arc. Donkey Kong also slams the spiked platform more often than in Boss Game 4, spawning Spiked Balls from the spiked platform's location more frequently. To defeat Donkey Kong, the player must shoot Mini Marios from a cannon to either hit Donkey Kong directly, or reach the platforms on the top of the screen and cause Toad portraits to fall on Donkey Kong. However, these portraits can also destroy a Mini Mario if it comes into contact with one. If all the player's Mini Marios are destroyed, the game is over.
