Silver Stars are exclusive to [[Super Mario 64 DS]] and is a new feature to the game. There basically a silver colored [[Power Star]]. In some levels you must collect 5 to get a power star. Most players will find them at the island level in the toy room. When you get damaged while holding a Silver Star, on will scatter and bouce around the area nostop. Catching it will give you it back odviously. Similiar physics are used in the multiplayer mode of SM64DS and the missions may have been the nspiration of the multiplayer mode or the other way around.
