- Yoshi's New Island (pictured) sets out a new revival of the Yoshi's Island games following seven years of hiatus in the Yoshi video game series.
- In Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, Iggy is the only main antagonist to be fought once and, along with Lemmy and Morton, one of the few that cannot be fought again in any way.
- Super Mario Sunshine is the only 3D Mario platformer that has yet to have a sequel or remake.
- Cloud is the first and only third-party character thus far in the Super Smash Bros. series whose debut title was never released on a Nintendo console.
