Rosalina

Remove Featured Article Status

  1. Bazooka Mario (talk) I think Rosalina has a few major expansion-related problems that's holding this article back. One thing Rosalina definitely lacks is a background section, where I think should outline the events in Rosalina's Storybook; it's already mentioned in one sentence in the intro paragraphs, but not explored enough. The first section, on Super Mario Galaxy, is disappointing. Mario's article explains Rosalina's role in more detail, not only mentioning the beginning scene with Rosalina, but also the later cutscenes after the scientifically bogus explosion where Rosalina has a talk with Mario. Additionally, the section doesn't cover the true ending of the game, when Mario collects all 120 Power Stars. The article suffers from image clutter, which leaves behind a lot of blank space, but that's not difficult to fix. The Mario Party series can be incorporated into one section rather than be split into one liners. I wish Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition went into a little more detail about Rosalina since it's all meaningless numbers and stats to me, and besides, doesn't she have individual stats? The article does list it, although vaguely. Super Mario-Kun needs to be incorporated into the main history section. Finally, Rosalina needs a section on Super Mario Maker, but I'll give her a pass since the game is recently released. Rosalina's general information section is not the best, especially her clothing section, which has too much detail. There is also a unnecessarily separated subsection on her motorbike outfit. Rosalina's development section can probably be moved to the beginning of the article, similar to the one in Mario's article, although there isn't really a lot of information on it in the first place without going into boring description. Rosalina's personality and traits is not great either. Again, it can use an expansion from her storybook, but I think it can use more analysis from her speech and general demeanor, with examples. The relationships needs to deduct something from all the interactions with those Lumas. The merchandise section is particularly small, although I'm not sure it should be scrapped or not because Rosalina doesn't have much merchandising to begin with. Finally, Rosalina's profiles and stats section needs to summarize Rosalina's abilities and stats in paragraph format, maybe explaining her bio several times. Rosalina's article has several problems, mostly writing, expansion, and presentation issues, which I feel shouldn't allow her to be featured in that state.

Keep Featured Article Status

I think Princess Rosalina should be kept as a featured article because she is one of the characters that Nintendo is trying to make her become a main character and put her in more of the Mario games. I know that there may be other Mario characters who deserve the attention, but that doesn't mean that Princess Rosalina gets ignored and fade into obscurity. It would only create more trouble in the future. Also, Princess Rosalina is an interesting character and represents one of the best (if not the best) Mario games, which is Super Mario Galaxy. By leaving Princess Rosalina as a featured article, it will give people another reason to find out more about her and understand her origins. Also, by leaving her as a featured article, others would try to do research on her and contribute information about her. Because if Princess Rosalina was to be unfeatured, others will see her as obscure and not contribute anymore information about her since they would see no reason to. Lastly, like I said in my first point, Nintendo is trying to build a strong reputation for Princess Rosalina to be more recognized. By leaving this as a featured article, this helps Nintendo by promoting information about Princess Rosalina as a featured article.

I've merged the motorbike gear section and added Mario Maker info. I might try and improve it otherwise if nobody else wants to. The Pyro Guy (talk)

I've already started working on this article; I've already added a background section for starters. We could do a collab, Pyro Guy, if you want. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 15:25, 13 October 2015 (EDT)
