Template:Pmenemybox Swoopulas are more powerful species of Swoopers that absorb HP from Mario (taking 2 HP per bite) in Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Usually at the beginning of battle, they will be perched on the ceiling. To get them down, Mario must hit them with either an item, Quake Hammer, Hammer Throw, or a particular partner attack. A Superguard will also work. In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door however, normal Swoopulas start the battle in the air. Unlike the Swoopulas in the first Paper Mario game, they may only attack once before the battle starts.

Swoopula's name is based of the vampire, Count Dracula.
