Lily is a water lily that lives in Flower Fields. During Huff N. Puff's invasion of the peaceful meadow, Lily's pond runs dry, leaving the flower stranded on the ground. Of course, without water, Lily would wither and die. To refill the pond, Mario had to retrieve the powerful Water Stone and return the artifact to its proper place. Fortunately, Mario obtained the crystal from the selfish flower Rosie (who would rather see Lily die than give up the beautiful artifact). Once the stone was set in the pond, it filled with water, saving Lily's life.
