Stone Chomps are a variety of Chomps. They guard artifacts within the temple and attack Mario when he takes an artifact. They suprise him by falling off the ceiling or Jumping out of a wall design. It is said that they are not actual Chain Chomps, but magically animated rocks that are built to honor Chain Chomps. Around and inside the Dry Dry Ruins are large Stone Chomp statues.
