The Arrow Lift is an platform found in Super Mario Bros. 3 at the level 7-6. Jumping on one leads the player upwards. If the player jumps on the Arrow Lift with exclamation mark on it, the player can comtrol it with jumps.
Arrow lift-like rocks reappear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island; they first appeared in the level Salvo the Slime's Castle. It's a tan-colored circle with an arrow on it. The Arrow Lift spins and if a Yoshi jumps on it, the Arrow Lift will move in the direction the arrow is pointing. Arrow Lifts are mainly found within the various Castles and Fortresses across Yoshi's Island. The Arrow Lift will change directions if it hits a wall or spikes.
A rare blue variant exists, mostly in areas prominent with ghost species. Those kind of Arrow Lifts disappear a short time after being boarded, the only way to prevent it's disappearance is to eat and then spit it out.
Both kinds of Arrow Lifts reappear with less frequency in Yoshi's Island DS.
Trivia
- Interestingly, there is a mission in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS in Wet-Dry World called "Shocking Arrow Lifts!". However, it doesn't contain the same Arrow Lifts.
