The hat-stealing monkey.

Ukikis are monkeys that first appeared in Super Mario 64. While only one Ukiki is seen in that game, the Ukiki lives in Tall Tall Mountain. Ukiki can be seen following Mario around and doing tricks, however if Mario grabs him, Ukiki will steal Mario's hat and wear it. To get it back Mario has to grab him again, however Ukiki runs away from Mario know.

If Mario looses the hat in the level then dies, go back to Ukiki, he'll still be wearing the hat. In the second mission, Mario must catch him, and he will jump on a cage with a star for him. Just jump directly down with him and Mario will be able to access the star.

Ukikis also appear in Mario Party 4, in which the Ukikis creature will toss a banana. This banana, upon being slipped on, will determine a character's path around the game board.

Ukikis also appear in other Mario titles, like Mario Power Tennis where they appear in the background of a court, and in Mario Party 7 where they clean Peach's Cruiser.

A relative to Ukiki named Akiki appears in Mario Party Advance.
