Slime

A Slime is a gooey creature made of slime. Slimes are usually colorless, however in the Mario Party 4 mini-game Slime Time, it is shown that Slimes come in many colors. Slimes primarily live in Yoshi's Island, but mainly appear in Tap-Tap the Red Nose's Fort, and Bowser's Castle, carrying keys. Here, they are in disguise as blocks, until a Yoshi approaches them, then they turn into their true form. Like Salvo the Slime, they cannot directly harm Yoshi and Baby Mario, only hoping to push them into either a hot or spiky demise, or hit them with enough. However, they do not shed Lemon Drops when hit with Eggs, something only Salvo the Slime can do. If a Slime is hit by a seed or egg, they get smaller and smaller until they disapear. The same effect happens to the Slime if it falls into a Spike or lava pit.

Slimes also appear in Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3. Here, they appear as small, pink blobs that stay in one place. If Wario runs into one, it puffs up, thrusting Wario upwards and occasionally making him hit the ceiling, which was sometimes covered in spikes. The Slimes of Wario Land could only be defeated in a somewhat complex way: Dragon Wario must have his hat on the exact same plane as the slime and he must use his fire to obliterate the enemy.

Salvo the Slime was originally a Lemon Drop, but was transformed into a Slime.
