Arrow Lifts appear only in Wet-Dry World. They are gray blocks with blue arrows that move back and forth when Mario, Yoshi, Luigi, or Wario steps on them. An activated Arrow Lift stops moving at its path's end for two seconds before moving back to its original position, after which the process repeats after two more seconds pass. There is a total of five Arrow Lifts.

Arrow Lifts appear first in Super Mario Bros. 3 at the level 7-6 of the Pipe Maze. It's the only level that this object is found. Arrow Lifts are block-like platforms with an arrow over them. If Mario stands on one, the platform releases a decolored form of itself and moves the plumber to the direction the Arrow Lift is pointing. There is another Arrow lift that has an exclamation mark on it. Stepping on this one, Mario can control the direction of this platform up, left or right as he jumps. However, if the plumber stands still while the platform is moving an stumble upon an obstacle, like a wall, the platform will keep moving forwards or disappear, causing Mario to fall.

The Arrow Lift spins and if a Yoshi jumps on it, the Arrow Lift will move in the direction the arrow is pointing. Arrow Lifts are mainly found within the various Castles and Fortresses across Yoshi's Island. The Arrow Lift will change directions if it hits a wall or spikes.

A rare blue variant exists, mostly in areas prominent with ghost species. Those kind of Arrow Lifts disappear a short time after being boarded, the only way to prevent its disappearance is to eat and then spit it out.
