Bowser's Castle is one of the fourteen courts of Mario Sports Mix and appears in all of the sports for the players to compete in. It always appears in the second round of the Star Cup except for hockey, where it appears in the third round of the Extra mode instead.

In volleyball and dodgeball, there are Lava Bubbles which spring from the court and the limit of the two camps can displace which advantages one team has compared to the other one. In basketball, it is the same except for the absence of limits in the court. For dodgeball, when players get knocked out, the center line will shift so that the losing team has more room to work with. For volleyball, the leading team gets more room, but the losing team will be safe from all Lava Bubbles; the Lava Bubbles will pop up at the center of the volleyball court.
