Pillars[1] are destructible objects found in Wrecking Crew, making their debut in Phase 4. If they are destroyed, anything that they support will fall. When a drum drops, anything underneath is trapped. There is a slight delay in the collapse, allowing Mario or Luigi time to escape. Pillars do not support doors or other pillars. They are not required to be smashed to complete a phase, and they award no points.
