Shifting Sands is the third course in Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour. It is very similar and the name may be based on Shifting Sand Land from Super Mario 64 or a reference to the "Shifting Sands", the enchanted deserts in L. Frank Baum's Oz books.

The Shifting Sands course is filled with many sand dunes and sand traps, along with some cracked ground that can quickly stop the ball. Throughout the course, the player is taken through ruins, pyramids, cliffs, sphinxes, and a small water hole at hole 14, while Kleptos fly around once in a while. In the last hole of the course, the sun sets, at which time the winner is announced when the game is finished.
