Zone Speed is one of the new confirmed shot elements with the Trick Shot, the Zone Shot, and the Special Shot for Mario Tennis Aces. When the ball is being hit to the other side of the court, then Zone Speed is the best way to return it. When active, the world will turn into slow motion. The player is not affected and can run at normal pace. This gives them the perfect opportunity to return the ball strongly.

Zone Speed depletes energy when you use it, which is why you cannot spam this the whole match (similar to Zone Shots). Despite this, they are excellent for using during the opponent using a Special Shot or a Zone Shot, as the player can block it easier.

Controls

When the energy gauge is not full and the player's character is not on the star, they can use Zone Speed. Pressing L, R, ZL or ZR starts using it - letting go will stop it.
