Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is an upcoming role-playing crossover title between the Mario franchise and Ubisoft's Raving Rabbids titles to be released for the Nintendo Switch. It was officially announced at E3 2017 during Ubisoft's press conference, though artwork for the title leaked online on May 23, 2017, and is set to be released in America on August 29th, 2017.[1]

Gameplay

The game is estimated to be composed of 35% exploration elements and 65% turn-based combat.[2] A multiplayer, local co-op mode has also been confirmed. The combat is weapon-based, with the weapons resembling guns.

The exploration aspect of the gameplay is controlled by Tuttorio, a new character to be introduced.[3] There will be seven enemy archetypes, and one mid-boss and boss per world; there are a total of four world environments.

Playable characters

  • Mario - Wields an arm cannon with a Banzai Bill design.
  • Rabbid Peach[4] - Wields a pink and white arm cannon.
  • Rabbid Luigi[4] - Attacks with a yellow circular projectile.
  • Luigi - Wields a weapon that somewhat resembles the Poltergust 5000.
  • Rabbid Mario[4] - Wields a weapon with a fish-like design.
  • Princess Peach - Wields a weapon with a Shark-like design.
  • Rabbid Yoshi[4] - Wields a weapon with a mask having teeth and lack of visible part of the mouth just like Nabbit's mask, while being wider and having the dark border around the mouth and possibly the biconcave design typical of Bowser Jr.'s mask.
  • Yoshi - Wields a weapon with a design that incorporates both a banana and a barrel.
