Mario has two brown Shoes that he always wears. They are not really important in the games.

In Luigi's Mansion, Mario lost one of his shoes and Luigi had to find it.

In the Paper Mario series, Mario changes his shoes to a pair of either green or blue boots (Super Boots) and then a pair of red boots (Ultra Boots). The boots are more powerful than Mario's standard boots, and grant him with extra abilities.
