Magons are a species of monsters appearing in Wario World. They are first seen in Greenhorn Forest. Forest, Skeletal, and Clown Magons require one hit while all future versions require three.

They come in small and large forms; the small ones can be defeated in one punch, and the larger ones take up to three hits. Later on in the game (after Shivering Mountains), punches will only stun them, and an additional move will be required to defeat them. The basic form of a Magon is that of an orange lizard with a spike on its head. As the game advances, Magons will take differently themed forms to fit the theme of the level Wario is currently in. In Greenhorn Forest, Magons cannot attack, but from that point onward, Magons will have a bite and a swipe attack.

Every Magon or Magon-like enemy encountered has a large and small version. The small Magons seen in Greenhorn Forest would not hurt Wario, but in later levels, they would have a bite attack. The large Magons, Skeletal Magons, and Snowmen try to hit Wario with a mere swipe. The large Clowns, Wolves, Puppet Magons, and Mummy Magons swipe too, but they also have a much more powerful tail spin that knocks Wario out for a few seconds. Any large Magon may also make a slide attack, and while it does not do damage, it will dislodge whatever Wario is carrying. They must be stunned with a punch or three punches (starting in Shivering Mountains) first, then Wario had to execute a Piledriver, Wild Swing-Ding or Mega Toss to defeat them, although a regular throw is effective as well, unlike many stronger enemies.
Aside from the basic Magons in Excitement Central, Horror Manor has the skeletal form, Wonky Circus has the clown form, Shivering Mountains has the snowman form, Beanstalk Way has the wolf form, Mirror Mansion has the puppet form and Pecan Sands has the mummy form. Each Magon species gradually attacks at a faster rate than the last iteration. The Clowns, Wolves, Puppets and Mummies have an additional tail spin that can stun Wario momentarily. Any large Magon can perform a sliding move that does no damage, but will dislodge any object Wario is carrying.

Other varieties of Magons would appear is later levels, including Skeletal Magons, Clowns, Snowmen, Wolves, Puppet Magons and Mummy Magons. Each Magon species gradually attacks at faster rates, with the earlier variations attacking at slower rates than the later variations.

Later on in the game (after Shivering Mountains), punches will only stun them, and an additional move will be required to defeat them.
