The Crud Cannon is a weapon owned and presumebly built by King Bowser Koopa; the Crud Cannon's purpose is to launch garbage over vast distances.
In The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 episode "Recycled Koopa", Bowser, wantinng to mutate all of Brooklyn into Koopa Zombies and other creatures through exposure to his garbage, employed the use of the Crud Cannon to do so from the safety of his Doomship. The Crud Cannon's use was relatively short though, as Mario and Luigi, after cleaning all of Brooklyn with their Trash Smasher, managed to chase Bowser and his Crud Cannon, out of Brooklyn by scaring him off in their now flight capable Trash Smasher.
