A Battle Beetle[1] is a flying Atlas Beetle[1] in the Tree Zone and Macro Zone found in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. Battle Beetles attack by flying into the air and slowly hovering down at an angle. Mario can avoid this by running under the Battle Beetle at the peak of its jump or hitting it mid-flight. A simple jump on the head or a Fireball attack are enough to finish it off. Battle Beetles look much like Hercules beetles, but are roughly Mario's size, except when in the Macro Zone, where they are the same size as regular beetles as Mario has been shrunk.

A Battle Beetle has also appeared in volume 9 of Super Mario-Kun. Mario uses his Bunny form to defeat it.
