Th Gameplay seems to shift between Luigi's dream world and the regular world. Due to the shift to 3D, the game not only uses a new art style, but Mario & Luigi can fully move around the overworld instead of the locked grid movement from past games. Badges similar from Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story seems to make an appearance in this game.
