Template:Roombox The Boneyard (Japanese: 裏の空き地 Vacant Land of the Back) is one of the few locations in Luigi's Mansion located outside of the mansion. It is cleared in Area Two.
After extinguishing the flames on the Kitchen side of the Boneyard with the Water Element, Luigi finds himself in a grassy lawn. Luigi finds Spooky, a sleeping guard dog in his doghouse. Luigi captures both Spooky and a Skeleton Ghost named Mr. Bones, which causes the Boneyard to brighten. Luigi notices some sparkles inside Spooky's doghouse, and decides to investigate with his Game Boy Horror. This transports him to the Graveyard.
The only items of interest in the Boneyard are Spooky's doghouse, a spigot, and a small bean-like plant buried in dirt on the eastern side.
If Luigi waters the bean when he first sees it, it will sprout into a small plant. After he captures Bogmire, it will grow some more and produce a bud. If Luigi waters it again, the bud will grow and bloom into a gigantic flower. When he defeats Boolossus, the flower will become a seed pod. Luigi then may water it a third and final time to make it open, revealing the rare Golden Diamond. Along with it are 2 Gold Bars, 20 Bills, and 30 Coins. If Luigi doesn't water it after defeating a boss, the plant will whither and die.
