This article is about Ostro the ostrich. For Birdo, the enemy that got put as Ostro in the credits of Super Mario Bros. 2, go here.

Ostros were ostriches that Shy Guys could ride in Super Mario Bros. 2. They hop along the ground and run back and forth when they don't have a rider. Players can jump on top of an Ostro an ride it across obstacles if it doesn't have a Shy Guy rider.
