'''Dino-Torches''', sometimes called Mini-Rhinos, are smaller versions of the triceratop-like [[Dino Rhino]]s. What's strange, though, is that the Mini-Rhinos could produce flames from their maws, whether they were facing upwards or to the side, while Dino Rhinos couldn't. Mini-Rhinos would track their opponents, chasing them until one of them died. A note should be mentioned, that when a Dino Rhino was jumped upon, it would turn into a Dino-Torch.

A Dino-Torch

Dino-Torches, sometimes called Mini-Rhinos, are green, large-eyed dinosaurs encountered in Super Mario World, mostly on Chocolate Isle. Mini-Torches attack by either charging at Mario or attempting to roast him with their flame breath, which can be sprayed upward or downward.

Oddly, when a Dino Rhino is jumped on, it will transform into Dino-Torch; this is odd, as Dino Rhinos display no fire breathing abilities in their regular form.

Appearances in Other Media

Dino-Torches, though often refered to simply as "Dinosaurs", appeared quite frequently in the Super Mario World animated series.

A Dino-Torch first appeared in the episode "The Wheel Thing", were one is used by Kooky Von Koopa as a welding torch while he is building his Mega Mechanasaur. Later in the episode it is revealed that the source of the Mega Mechanasaur's fire breath is an oddly winged Dino-Torch hidden in it's mouth; this Dino-Torch evidently didn't survive the destruction of the Mega Mechanasaur.

In "Send in the Clown", two Dino-Torches are shown to inhabit a cage with a Dino Rhino in Bowser's "Koopaling Bros. Circus"; after Mario is forced into this cage by Bowser, the chair he is given to defend himself with is burnt to a crisp by these Dino-Torches; which Mario later defeats by blasting with fireballs as Fire Mario.

In "King Scoopa Koopa" several Dino-Torches, along with some Rexes, are shown to be employed as chefs at Bowser's fast-food stand. Later in the episode, Mario, after breaking into Bowser's stand, is attacked by Bowser, who weilds a Dino-Torch as a flamethrower. After he is defeated by Cape Mario, Bowser and his Dino-Torch and Rex minions manage to escape down a Warp Tube.
