In ''[[Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest]]'', Squitter appears to assist [[Diddy Kong|Diddy]] and [[Dixie Kong]] on their adventure. He has the ability to shoot out an unlimited supply of web projectiles from his mouth, which he can use to defeat most enemies, including [[Zinger]]s. He also has the ability to create temporary web platforms to reach higher areas, such as a [[Bonus Area]], or to cross a large gap. However, he cannot jump as high as the Kongs can in return. Squitter is unable to defeat an enemy by jumping on it, as this injures him in the process. Squitter appears in seven levels: [[Hot-Head Hop]], [[Krockhead Klamber (Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest)|Krockhead Klamber]], [[Hornet Hole (Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest)|Hornet Hole]], [[Bramble Scramble (Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest)|Bramble Scramble]], [[Web Woods (Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest)|Web Woods]], [[Toxic Tower (Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest)|Toxic Tower]], and lastly [[Animal Antics (Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest)|Animal Antics]].

In ''[[Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!]]'', Squitter reprises his role, keeping mostly the same characteristics. Unlike in the previous game, Squitter can now defeat enemies by jumping on them, although it is no more effective than the Kongs' jump attack, because he cannot defeat stronger enemies like [[Buzz (enemy)|Buzz]]es this way. This ability was removed from the [[Game Boy Advance]] version. Squitter appears in seven levels: [[Fire-Ball Frenzy]], [[Blazing Bazukas]], [[Krack Shot Kroc]], [[Pot Hole Panic (Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!)|Pot Hole Panic]], [[Creepy Caverns]], [[Stampede Sprint]], and lastly [[Tyrant Twin Tussle]].

Squitter appears in the last two installments of the [[Donkey Kong Land (series)|''Donkey Kong Land'' series]]: ''[[Donkey Kong Land 2]]'' and ''[[Donkey Kong Land III]]'', based on his appearances in ''Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest'' and ''Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!'' respectively. In both games, Squitter's webs have shorter range and disappear shortly after being shot. Web platforms can be created by pressing {{button|gb|b}} then {{button|gb|select}}. In ''Donkey Kong Land III'', Squitter can also defeat enemies by jumping on them.

In ''Donkey Kong Land III'', Squitter is slightly less common, only appearing in four levels: [[Koco Channel]], [[Karbine Kaos]], [[Stalagmite Frights]], and [[Haunted Hollows]].

In the [[Super Smash Bros. (series)|''Super Smash Bros.'' series]], there are a few items of Squitter. ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'' and ''[[Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS]]'' each have a [[Trophy (Super Smash Bros. series)|trophy]] of Squitter, unlockable at random. In ''[[Super Smash Bros. Ultimate]]'', there is an Advanced support [[Spirit (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)|spirit]] of Squitter that negates the jump and speed reduction effect of sticky floors.
