Valiant made many Mario comics based on such games as Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario Land. The original company was renamed Acclaim Comics in 1994 when it was bought by the video game company Acclaim Entertainment and closed in 2004 when Acclaim went bankrupt. The company was bought in 2005 and returned to making comics ever since.
