Mechanical Zingers are purple-and-yellow striped robotic Zingers and an enemy in Donkey Kong 64. Instead of wings, Mechanical Zingers have a propeller on their head, which they use to stay airborne, and a pair of small wheels for feet.

Mechanical Zingers only appear in the level Frantic Factory, which they appear entirely throughout. They also make a brief appearance in one of Lanky Kong's Hideout Helm challenges, where his objective is to shoot down three Mechanical Zingers. Like their normal counterpart, Mechanical Zingers try to attack the Kongs by dropping unripened, green oranges on them. Unlike normal Zingers, they do not attempt to dive-bomb at the active Kong. Also, unlike normal Zingers, the orange is shown being dropped out of a hatch on their undersides.
Mecha-Zingers are found exclusively in the area Frantic Factory as common enemies. They also have a brief appearance in a minigame in Hideout Helm. Mecha-Zingers, like normal Zingers, will attack the Kongs by dropping unripened, green Orange Grenades on them. Mecha-Zingers are also slightly more durable than their organic counterparts, capable of withstanding two shots from a weapon instead of one; the first shot does cause them to fly erratically and start smoking, however.

Mechanical Zingers are slightly more durable than normal Zingers: DK and Diddy Kong need two hits to defeat them, while Lanky Kong and Tiny Kong need three. Chunky Kong can defeat them in one hit with his Pineapple Launcher, however. A Mechanical Zinger will fly erratically and start smoking if it's hit by a weapon, but not defeated. A Mechanical Zinger can also be defeated from an orange or a Kong's musical instrument, both of which instantly defeat them. If defeated by Lanky, Tiny, or Chunky's weapons, or by an orange from any Kong, a Mechanical Zinger spews thick black smoke as it goes down.
Mecha-Zingers, unlike normal Zingers, do not attempt to dive-bomb the Kongs. Mecha-Zingers do not have wings; instead, they have propellers (like a helicopter).
