The Mario Sports series refers to any Mario-brand spinoff games that involves some sort of sport. Donkey Kong has starred in many of these games and recently some other DK characters as well. This article covers solely Donkey Kong information regarding the games below.

The Mario Golf series is a series of games involving Mario and related characters playing golf. Donkey Kong has appeared in several of these games.

The first game in the series had starred Donkey Kong as one of the unlockable characters in the game. He has a drive of 275Y. DK does not have any courses themed after his games unlike the rest of the Mario cast.

Donkey Kong appeared on the Nintendo GameCube iteration of the Mario Golf series as a default character, and Diddy Kong makes his first Golf appearance. He now has his own courses themed after him, "Congo Canopy".

The Mario Kart series are racing games featuring Nintendo Characters. One Mario Kart game has appeared on almost every Nintendo system since the SNES. There are currently 7 games in the series.

Super Mario Kart is the first game in the Mario Kart series, it was released in 1992 for the Super Nintendo. This game includes seven Mario characters and one Donkey Kong character in it with 20 simple Mario like courses.

- D.K.'s Jungle Parkway is Donkey Kong's home track in the game. When racers go off-course, restless natives will throw stones at them, much like Minkeys do in DKC3. A cruise boat named Mario floats around the river in the jungle.

Mario Kart: Double Dash!! was released in 2003 for the GameCube. The game features the ability for two players to ride on a kart, one to drive and one to use items. There are specific Special Items for each character.

- DK Mountain, it takes place in a jungle around a active volcano. There is a giant Barrel Cannon in the jungle, that blasts the player to the volcano.

- DK Jumbo is a heavyweight kart made out of a huge barrel, has limbers for wheels.
- Barrel Train is Diddy Kong's unlockable kart. It is a lightweight kart, it has greater speed, but less acceleration.

Mario Kart DS is the fifth game created for the Mario Kart series, it was released in 2005 for the Nintendo DS. It features Wi-Fi connection, a Mission Mode, and a map on the bottom screen.

Mario Kart Wii is the sixth installment of the Mario Kart series, released in 2008 for the Wii. A Wii Wheel is included in the package because Nintendo aimed that it would make it a more realistic steering experience. It is, however, compatible with other controllers as well. It features many classic Mario Kart characters as well as several new ones. It features Wi-Fi and a new type of vehicle, bikes.

- Funky Kong makes his debut on a Mario game as an unlockable racer in the heavyweight class. Funky is considered one of the best racers in the game for his slightly above average stats and great speed.

- D.K's Snowboard Cross takes place on a snowy mountain with half-pipe ramps. There is a canon that blasts the player to the top of the mountain.

- Funky Stadium is a Battle Stage. Funky Kong's face and logos are found throughout the stadium. The stadium resembles a skateboarding course.

Mario Kart 7 is the seventh Mario Kart game in the series. It was released in 2011 for the Nintendo 3DS. It received generally positive reviews and scored an aggregate score of 85/100 on Metacritic and an 84.96% on GameRankings. It was the first game in the series to introduce gliding and underwater elements.

The Mario Baseball series is a series of Mario games featuring Mario and his friends playing baseball. There are currently two games. Donkey Kong and Diddy are captains in both.

Mario Hoops 3-on-3, known in Europe as Mario Slam Basketball and in Japan as Mario Basketball 3on3 (マリオバスケ 3on3 Mario Basuke 3on3?) was a Mario sports game for the Nintendo DS released in 2006. It was the first Mario basketball game in the sports series and the first Mario sports game to be developed by Square Enix and their second Mario game over all.

[edit] Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games was Donkey Kong's first Mario & Sonic appearance, being absent from the original. In the Wii version, Donkey Kong is a "power" type, having high speed and power and moderate acceleration and speed. In the DS version he is too, but now specializes in power and stamina, has moderate speed and below average jumping and technique. Diddy also appears but not completely, you can earn a Diddy Kong Costume when you purchase the Black Shopping Card.
