'''Cruiser Crossing the Rainbow''' is the first mission of [[Rainbow Ride]] in ''[[Super Mario 64]]'' and ''[[Super Mario 64 DS]]''. The mission's objective is to reach the [[Rainbow Cruiser]].

==Layout==

Once the player reaches the four spinning [[platform]]s, they need to take the [[magic carpet]] to the right. After passing the obstacles on its path, the player needs to take the next carpet on the left before the one they are on falls. Remaining on that carpet and passing the spinning platform takes the player to the Rainbow Cruiser. The [[Power Star]] is located on the bow of the ship.

In the DS version, the Star is instead moved farther down towards the very end of the bowsprit, and the [[wind]] is too strong for anyone to collect the Star. In order to get it, [[Wario]] must obtain a [[Power Flower (Super Mario 64 DS)|Power Flower]] that he can use to bypass the wind more easily. He can then get the Star at the very end. However, [[Luigi]] can [[Backward Somersault|backward-somersault]] from a carpet to get to the Star, and [[Mario]] can grab the Power Flower and [[Balloon Mario|float]] to it. [[Yoshi]] can scoot up to reach the Star by [[dash|running]] and sticking out his tongue alternately on the bowsprit.
