This move can be purchased from [[Cranky's Lab]] for 3 [[Banana Bunch Coin]]s starting in [[Jungle Japes]]. To use it, the player must press the {{button|n64|Z}} button while Donkey Kong is standing on one of [[Cranky's Kong Pad]]s with the shape of his head on it. If done correctly, Donkey Kong shoots up into the sky and enters a Barrel Cannon course. On this course, Donkey Kong has to shoot from [[Barrel]] to Barrel and attempt to reach the end. This usually rewards Donkey Kong with a [[Golden Banana]] or by activating another event on the stage.


To use this move, the player must press {{button|n64|Z}} while Donkey Kong stands on a [[Cranky's Kong Pad]] depicting his head. This fires him up into the sky, and he ends up in a Barrel Cannon challenge. In it, Donkey Kong must blast through a series of [[Barrel Cannon]]s and [[Blast Barrel]]s until he reaches the end goal. This usually either triggers an event in the world or rewards him with a [[Golden Banana]].

Baboon Blast is used once in each world except [[Hideout Helm]]. The Barrel Cannon challenges for [[Angry Aztec]] and [[Frantic Factory]] are the only ones required for a non-[[Completion#Donkey Kong 64|101% completion]]. Without completing the Angry Aztec challenge, the Kongs cannot enter the [[Llama]]'s Temple and free [[Lanky Kong]]. Without completing the Frantic Factory challenge, the Kongs cannot play the ''[[Donkey Kong (game)|Donkey Kong]]'' arcade machine and earn the [[Nintendo Coin]].
